And just like that, we enter another holiday season filled with over indulging in every sense of the word. To help aid in the stress and regret of the upcoming months, I’ve pulled some of my most favorite gift ideas for your Modhemian friends and relatives. Some things strictly for the holiday season, others for year round enjoyment and some less practical things that just make us really happy. Because really, that’s the goal with gifting; buying something for someone that brings you joy and also receiving gifts that you’ll actually use time and time again.
1. Aerin brass Scalloped picture frames- I really love a pretty picture frame as a gift, to receive and also to give. Pop the kids school picture in there and ship it to grandma and you will make hearts swoon all across the country.
2. sherpa robe- I for one am not a person to hang out in a robe past shower time, but a lot of people are and every time I gift a robe, it is always well received. This one is suuuper soft and comes in a variety of colors and is something that is thoughtful that someone would never buy for themselves.
3. I love a hat for a multitude of reasons, but sometimes a wide circular brim isn’t always the right fit for the occasion and borrowing your husband’s/boyfriend’s/son’s hat is stinky and ill fitting. This sueded green ball cap looks casual but pulled together and you can rep either coast while protecting you face on those mid day errands and still look chic.
4. Gimme alll the baskets! Gift this by itself for a warm neutral home accent storage piece, or fill it with your favorite holiday candles, treats, lotions, books to sweeten the deal and win Christmas.
5. the perfect sweater doesn’t…… yup it does. this long wool cardigan is adds great cozy texture in a earthy neutral that will go with everything and is the perfect year round layer. in lieu of the robe, try this Zara sweater and don’t break the bank.
6. a brass pepper grinder is the perfect accent to every chef’s countertop, and this one is easy to refill!
7. Dorsey makes the most classic everyday pieces for the gal that wants to look expensive but not blow their whole load on one essential piece. These are LAB GROWN DIAMONDS so you don’t chince on sparkle but you also won’t go broke.
8. give me allll the scalloped terracotta planters. This is great gift because it can be enjoyed all year round and if you throw one of your favorite holiday plants in there you’re sure to make someone gush.
9. I don’t typically like a lot of holiday decor, except for the tree and maybe a wreath on the front door, but these green velvet ribbon trees really spoke to me. Pop them on the mantle or on a bookcase and you’ll add the perfect hint of holiday without going full Chris Kringle.
10. another perfect everyday styling piece, this stacked hand molded bracelet is the perfect compliment to any outfit.
11. before you say “oh, a candle real original”, take a whiff of Oak Essentials santo candle, or any JK candle for that matter. Adds the perfect earthy scent in the room and the prettiest accent to any coffee table.
12. Cashmere sweaters NEVER disappoint, and this is a good one from Banana Republic. Great length for the millennial front tuck, not too oversized and bulky but still hides the holiday bloat, and the neck has a nice single roll so you can leave the scarf at home but still feel really snuggly.
13. The Rochas velvet black ballet flat. the most coveted of all ballet flats! Get on top of this trend in a these classic flats that will elevate even the simplest every day outfit. Hard to find but don’t rule out the second time around shops if you can’t find your size or don’t want to spend $700
14 and 15. I have never met a neutral coffee table book i didn’t like. Jerimiah Brent and Colin King are two of my favorite interior design magic makers right now and all their lovely ideas are compiled into these gorgeous books. These can be stacked and displayed anywhere there is an open flat surface. A Modhemian can never enough decorative books!
I hope that helps to get you off to a good start and give you brownie points for the special ladies in your life this year.
ciao for now,
