Modhemian Fall Fashion Inspiration: My Must Haves for Fall 2018

In true changing of the season fashion, a new rush of style and design inspiration is thrust into our feeds and onto our must have lists. I don’t know about you but for me with changing seasons and cooler temps comes a reinvigoration of the senses. The oppressiveness of the summer months and constant sunshine, ugh, enough already ; ), has lifted which gets me in the mood to change things up and reaccessorize my life. Enter a compilation of my new favorite Modhemian inspired pieces that you’ll need to take note of for this season, if you haven’t already.

Ok, so I don’t know when I went all rocker chic and grew some edge on these soft little curves, but recently I have been really into neutral drama and embellishments, but only in my wardrobe, not in my home. Loving this over done, oversized jewelry trend I keep seeing. Naturally, I’m a ring, bracelet, necklace kinda girl. I can’t hang with earrings, maybe on account of my freakishly small elf ears, or that I get all red and itchy, but throw me a ring on every finger, an oversized bangle or a pile of gold pendant necklaces and I’m all yours.

Love a statement, stacking gold ring collection or a pinky monogramed Signet. So classic, so pretty and never out of style. One for every digit please!

Jessica Seaton has been my go to ring chick since I discovered custom jewelry. She has such an aura about her and I love how it feels like a slice of her is set in every piece she creates.

Tom Wood Rings as seen on HonestlyWTF. Bad ASs

These oversized bangles are a total head turner. I like to keep my outfits understated, neutral simple and tailored, so to throw in some personality and edge, these are just what you need to make it interesting.

This amber acrylic bangle from Cult Gaia is EXACTLY what I’m talking about!

Cult Gaia Anna Bangle- Boarderline obnoxious, but not completely over the edge, exactly how you make a jewelry statement.

Lauren Manoogian leather saucer bangle is clean minimal accessorizing and great for stacking.

The more gold necklaces, layered at varying lengths, the better. Not thick Mr. T pile of gold necklaces, dainty pendant necklaces. I usually acquire a pretty gold something on special occasions, vacations and holidays so its nice to wear them all at once as a sweet reminder of how the years have progressed and lucky you are to be able to collect these tokens of love and travel. Perfect eclectic way to dress up the plain button up shirt and jeans uniform I rock habitually.

I have been on the hunt for one of these antique coin pendant necklaces. So pretty for everyday and love it layered with all my other nostalgic jewelry. The one below is from Martha Calvo.

For my bod I’m slightly obsessed with these teddy bear coats. I love a fur jacket, vintage or faux of course, but I feel like I’m not bougie enough to really pull it off. The teddy bear however, now that works perfectly with my tom boy, not taking myself too seriously style. Needs to be oversized and long for my pear shaped body type however. Oh, and it needs to get below 70 degrees in LA for me to be able to wear it. Revolve and Asos have reasonably priced teddies, if you’re into it.

Now, most importantly for the cooler months, a killer bootie. I wear flip flops or sandals 9 months out of the year, that’s no exaggeration. So in the other three months when that becomes inappropriate and down right chilly, or when I have a work meeting or function that inappropriate for flop action, I opt for a killer bootie. Right now, and I know Chloe has been doing this look for some time with their Suzanne micro studded booties, but Anine Bing’s boots are KILLING ME! They’re edgy but feminine, studded and embellished but not gaudy, flat so perfect for every day running around, pointy toed so great for elongating the line of the leg and hit just mid ankle, again, to elongate these stumps and making sure to not extenuate the cankle.

Lastly, I’ve always been a sucker for a strong animal print for this season. Kind of the white trash, summers at the Jersey Shore side of me coming out, but I’ve been seeing it done well in a polished chic way. I’m a dress/skirt kind of girl all the way so loving the feminine but still funky ease of these midi silk leopard skirts with a basic tee and sneaks. The Naomi is exactly what I’m talking about. For the head to toe look, Zara has this cute leopard wrap dress I could get down on, throw it in the cart! Definitely in tune with my Modhemian LA fall vibes.

So there you have it. Thankfully all these pieces can work together as well as they do separately so they will get lots of use this season.

Ciao for now!
