Fall Fashion Trends: Layering Your Slip Dress

The slip dress is a closet staple for any Modhemian, and if you're anything like me, when you spend $400 on a dress, you want to wear it as much as possible. This simple, classic, absolutely essential garment has never really gone out of style but with the 90's style revival in streetwear, this Clueless throw back has a new versatile modern look.

The slip dress is amazing because of its multiple personalities. It can be worn alone with a heal, sexy for date night or layered over a T and played down with sneaks for every day. Since I rarely find myself on a date, this Fall I'm loving the casual, cozy ways to style this silky strappy number.

Layer itOver a T shirt

Whether white and tight, loose and sheer or with your favorite vintage band name on it, the T-shirt will instantly give the slip dress comfort, coverage and edgey Fall Fashion style.

Layered over a Long Sleeve

Another way to make this Fall Fashion Trend work for those cooler fall days is to layer it over a tight long sleeve, a turtle neck, (damn the 90s really are back), or even over that favorite crisp button down. More coverage but same old slink.

Throw a Sweater Over it

This may be my most favorite fall fashion trend layered look because it epitomizes feminine comfort and is perfect for cool LA nights. Layer your slip dress under you favorite knit, whether a long chunky cardigan or an oversized off the shoulder pull over, this sweater silk combo is the best for Fall.

Grab Your Go To Jacket

Last, but not least, and this may just take us into a whole other dimension of trend, but throw on your trusty denim, bomber or leather jacket on over your slip dress with some sneakers or slides and you're warm, sassy and ready for fall.

Here are some of my favorite slips right now. Grab them before they're gone.
